Vicki

Vicki has been teaching music for over 25 years.  After receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Music from Hamilton College, her Master's in Music Education from The Crane School of Music, and her Master's in Education from Nazareth College, Vicki taught in the public schools.  She began attending Music Together classes with her son and soon realized that she wanted to be a part of this fabulous program.  First teaching in 2001 and then opening up her own center in Wellesley in 2003, Needham in 2013, and Wayland and Weston in 2018, Music Together Beyond the Hub now serves over 200 families each semester.  Says one Mom, "Ms. Vicki's energy, laughter, and love of what she does is contagious."

Michelle

Michelle has been involved with Music Together since 2002 when she was first introduced to the program as a parent. Inspired by the philosophy and her love of music she began teaching in 2003. As a child Michelle learned how to play the piano, flute and piccolo and regularly brings her flute to class for all to enjoy. Michelle was awarded Certification Level 1 in July 2010 for her expertise in teaching and program development. Besides Music Together, Michelle also teaches Rhythm Kids, a sensational new drum, dance, sing and play class offered for children Kindergarten and up. She was tapped by Ken Guilmartin, one of the creators of Music Together, to help develop the program and is invnolved in the teacher training videos. Michelle is the lucky mother of three chidlren and in her spare time likes to play the djembe and is trying to teach herself the accordian, the bohdran and the thumb piano.

Jane

Jane has held dual roles as both teacher and Center Director for Music Together in the Greater Lowell area since 2001.  Jane has brought her expertise to preschools, public schools, libraries, civic organizations and nursing homes and enjoys sharing her love of the Music Together program.  She is a member of the Children's Music Network and a proud mom of two Music Together graduates.  Families say that Jane's energetic style and sense of humor make for a fun-filled class.  Says one mom "What I have liked about Jane is her approachability, openness, and honesty.  Her enthusiasm encourages the kids and the adults to participate, and sets the tone for enjoying the class and just having a good time.  She leads by example, both musically and physically (i.e. dancing, moving, acting out like an animal).  Her voice has a refreshing, natural, just folks quality and she's totally uninhibited about singing!"

Angela

Angela has been a full time professional nanny for over 18 years and is also the mother of two. After first attending Music Together as a nanny in 2009 Angela quickly figured it out it was the one class that BOTH she and the children equally looked forward to. For 4 years Angela would attend each and every class with enthusiasm and joy all while singing and dancing her heart out. With each year that passed she kept secretly thinking "I would love to do this as a career". In the spring of 2013 the opportunity came at the same time her nanny career was about to change.

Amy Barker

Amy Barker has over 20 years of experience working with young children in various settings. A native Texan, she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in History and a minor in Deaf Education. She received her Master’s in Musical Theatre from Boston Conservatory, then worked as a professional actress in New York while studying Creative Arts Therapy at The New School. In addition to teaching Music Together, she taught art, music and developmental classes for Isis Parenting until it's closure in 2014. As both a mother and a teacher, Amy firmly believes in the importance of the arts in education and is thrilled to be teaching with Music Together Beyond the Hub!

Jen

Jen started teaching Music Together in 2011 after loving classes with her daughter Ruthie.
Ruthie is now 8 and rocking Miss Michelle's Rhythm Kids class and also an amazing assistant to some of my Rhythm Kids classes.
Jen is a classically trained singer, earning her Masters and Doctorate in vocal performance at New England Conservatory. She also studied Music Education with an emphasis on preschool and elementary school at the Hartt School of Music. She studied flute in high school and brings it to share at lullaby time, and is self taught on ukulele. When she's not at Music Together, Jen teaches voice, piano and ukulele ensemble at Dana Hall School. She sings professionally with Blue Heron, a Renaissance vocal group based in Cambridge as well as other new music ensembles. She loves to premiere brand new contemporary works as well.

Music Together Staff

This class will be taught by one of our fabulous teachers.

Hannah

Hannah has been playing and studying classical music for 16 years, during which she received her Music Together teaching certification in Princeton, New Jersey in 2016. She is a graduate of Ithaca College with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, grades K-12. In addition to her career in solo and orchestral flute across the United States, Hannah has traveled to Myanmar as a guest artist and pedagogue, teaching masterclasses and individual lessons at the local music institutes and universities. With a growing private studio based in the Somerville/Cambridge area, offered both in-person and online, Hannah spends her time practicing flute and other western classical instruments. When she is not enjoying her students and music, Hannah is hiking, reading, dancing, or biking!

Nolan

Nolan is a classically trained musician with over 15 years of musical training. Nolan cultivated his love of music during his time with Music Together from birth to age 5 and attributes much of his musical prowess to the program itself. Nolan’s greatest passion though, falls in education. He has worked with children (ages 4 to 14) for the past seven years—as a camp counselor, tennis instructor, and, starting this year, as an after schoolteacher for the Newton Public Schools at Bowen Elementary. Nolan has started a YouTube channel, dedicated to discussing issues in the American education system and is currently writing a book on the pitfalls of modern education. He plans to return to Bowen Elementary for the 2019-2020 school year but hopes he can someday found his own school.

Carolyn
Carolyn began her relationship with Music Together in 2009 when she enrolled with her young daughter in British Columbia. She completed her Music Together teacher training in 2013 and has been teaching ever since, first in Vancouver and now back home in metro Boston. In April 2017 she was proud to achieve Music Together's advanced Teacher Certification Level I. Carolyn relishes the opportunities Music Together has provided her, first as a parent and now as a teacher, to connect with her community and join families in fostering a love of singing, dancing, and rampant silliness.

Carolyn has been a singer all her life. In recent years she has been a featured soloist with both the Halalisa Singers and the Mystic Chorale, and well as with Vancouver's powerhouse City Soul Choir. Carolyn also has a wealth of musical theater experience. She spent four summers studying at Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center in New York and worked as a music and theater instructor for elementary and middle school-aged children at Cranbrook Theater School summer program in her native state, Michigan. A native of Detroit, Carolyn has a special place in her heart for the Motown sound, but also loves jazz, soul, folk, and (yes, unabashedly) 80s pop.
